AEC industry has two important characteristic features: it is very complex and very fragmented.
While the complexity of the industry comes from the application of big data, parametric design, AI, smart MEP systems and many other fields, its fragmentarity seems to remain on the same, and very high level, regardless of the tools and applications we use.
One of the solutions to this problem, means, fragmented AEC industry, is the creation of infographical Process Maps, which serve two main points: depict current stae-of-the-art process with its bottlenecks and misalignments, and able to show the growth areas in many parts of design,and, particularly, DfMA processes. The example of such a Process Map is shown above.
Continuous documentation of the current processes in the organisation, open access of all the team members into it with an opportunity to propose the improvements and circular and constant cut of the setbacks and bottlenecks is one of the key factrors to success of the company and continuous integration of different business processes into one Value Stream Map (VSM).
